Debbie passed away peacefully after more than 15 years of living with Parkinson’s disease. She faced the challenges of her illness with strength and grace, and ultimately passed away, surrounded by love.
She was born in Glendive, Montana, to Raymond and Perpetua Hegel. Debbie carried with her the values of family, hard work and resilience that she learned early in life. For many years, she worked for the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office, where she was admired for her dedication and attention to detail. Later, she continued her professional journey as a medical transcriptionist, applying her skills with care and precision.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Ivars; her children Ali, Masit, Bryan, and Angela; and her cherished grandchildren, Harlow, Anna, Michael and Eva. She is also survived by her mother, Perpetua, and her siblings, Kevin and Trish. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond.
She had a spirit that shone brightly in every room she entered. Debbie was loving and caring, with a heart that put family first. Known for her warmth and kindness, she also carried a streak of playful selfishness that those close to her came to know well — reminding us all that life should be lived with honesty and authenticity.
She found joy in the simple, beautiful things: walking along the beach in Mexico and soaking up the sun. Those moments by the water reflected her soul — calm, radiant, and deeply connected to the world around her.
Debbie’s love will continue to live on in her family and friends, in the stories shared, and in the countless lives she touched. She will be missed deeply but remembered always — always loved.
