Hoquiam track and field star Tyara Straka will soon be singing “Boomer Sooner.”

The Hoquiam senior signed a Letter of Intent on Saturday to compete for Oklahoma University next season on a full-ride scholarship.

Straka, a state champion thrower, currently owns the top girls shot put mark in the state this season after winning the Grays Harbor All-County Championship meet on Friday with a heave of 45 feet.
