Ocean Shores fire chief looks back on decades-long career

After 33 years in the fire service, 25 at Ocean Shores, Mike Thurier is hanging it up.

The Ocean Shores Golf Course opened in 1961. Five years later actor and singer Pat Boone hosted the first Celebrity Golf Classic at Ocean Shores, featuring big names like Clint Eastwood, Joe Namath and Fred MacMurray.
