Willapa Valley’s Pearson named co-MVP of Columbia Valley League

Vikings forward Wil Clements named First Team; head coach Jay Pearson named Coach of Year

Willapa Valley senior guard Riley Pearson took home top honors as the 1B Columbia Valley League announced its all-league boys basketball team for the 2022-23 season.

Pearson was named one of the league’s co-Most Valuable Players after scoring a team-best 15.1 points per game this season. Pearson led league and district-champion Vikings with 60 3-pointers in 180 attempts (33%) and made a team-best 57 of 71 free throws (80%).

Naselle senior Kolten Lindstrom shared MVP honors with Pearson.

Willapa Valley senior forward Wil Clements joined Pearson on the league’s First Team after averaging 12.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season.

Vikings head coach Jay Pearson was named the league’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Vikings to a league title with an unblemished 12-0 league record.

Pe Ell senior Kail Homan was named to the league’s First Team while Willapa Valley senior Derek Fluke and Pe Ell junior Zach Munos was named to the Second Team.
