Tuesday Prep Roundup: Aberdeen opens girls bowling season with loss to Black Hills

Bobcats fall 1862-1428 in non-league contest

Aberdeen opened its 2021-22 girls bowling season with a 1,862-1,428 loss to Black Hills on Tuesday at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

Aberdeen (0-1 overall) was led by Cha’tara Green’s Game 1 score of 141 followed by Camryn Micheau’s 135 in Game 2.

Green had the high series of the day for the Bobcats, bowling a 245 total over her two games.

Led by a high series of 379 from Zoey Theopolis (219, 160), Black Hills won the non-league contest by scores of 880-579 for Game 1 and 663-593 in Game 2.

The Wolves also won the Baker games by scores of 160-159 and 159-97.

“Black Hills is a very strong team that places at state often and graduated no one last year,” Aberdeen head coach Dave Bruncke said of the Wolves.

Aberdeen will face Rochester at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at Fairway Lanes in Centralia.
