Willapa Valley reaped the rewards of a successful 2021-22 campaign as the 1B Columbia Valley All-League Boys Basketball Team was announced on Tuesday.
The league-champion Vikings, who made a clean 9-0 run through their league schedule and will compete in the state regional round this Saturday, had three players named to the league’s First Team and head coach Jay Pearson was named league Coach of the Year.
Riley Pearson (12.7 ppg), Tyler Adkins (12.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg) and Gavin Hampton (9.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.5 apg) were all named to the league’s top squad after leading the Vikings to a 19-4 overall record.
Junior Derek Fluke (8.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg) was named to the Second Team while Kolten Fluke (9.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg) earned a league Honorable Mention nod.
