Aberdeen’s Heikkila, Raymond’s Gardner named Athlete of the Week

Aberdeen Bobcats wrestler Tatum Heikkila and Raymond basketballer Kyra Gardner were both named to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s “Athlete of the Week” list for the period of Dec. 16-Jan. 5.

Heikkila continued her impressive undefeated season by collecting her fifth individual tournament championship at the second day of the Kelso Invitational by pinning her finals opponent (1:07) in the first round.

Kyra Gardner, Raymond, Basketball (Fr.)

Gardner drained the nets for 57 points in two games, including the winning basket at the buzzer against South Bend when she scored 36 points. In the two games she collected 23 rebounds, 12 steals, nine blocks, and five assists.
