Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 40, Ilwaco 6

Forty to six scores aren’t uncommon at any level of prep football.

But they are rare when it causes a game to end a whole half early.

That is the situation the PWV Titans found themselves in on Friday after jumping out to a 40-6 lead in the first half against a vastly depleted Ilwaco team in Pe Ell.

The Titans (1-0 overall) scored 26 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second against a Fishermen team that had several players unavailable due to injury or other commitments.

PWV totalled 287 yards of offense.

Senior quarterback Tyler Adkins went 3-for-5 for 91 yards and two touchdowns on passes of 22 yards and 46 yards to receiver Joseph Krazyck in the first quarter.

Adkins also scored on a 25-yard run to make it a 32-0 game with 11:25 left in the second quarter.

Titans running back Derek Fluke led PWV with 54 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.

Will Clements scored on a 3-yard run to put the Titans up 40-0 with 6:30 left in the second frame.

“The boys came out and played a heck of a game,” PWV head coach Josh Fluke said. “They were ready to play and came out hitting hard … They came out and wanted to play some football.”
