WESTPORT — Scoring primarily in the jumps and distances, Ocosta’s girls took team honors in a multi-school track meet Tuesday at Westport.
The Wildcats scored 105 points to finish 33 ahead of runner-up Willapa Valley. Life Christian won the boys meet with 103 1/2 points, 7 1/2 ahead of Ocosta.
Ocosta’s Alivia Marsh remained unbeaten in the girls high jump, with her 4-10 mark Tuesday representing a personal best.
Wildcat coach Aaron Anderson also cited freshman Natalie Cain for her showing in the girls distances.
Ocosta sophomore Evan Waara was a double winner in the boys 100 and 400 meters and also had a piece of a winning relay team.
Willapa Valley’s Olivia Betrozoff doubled in the girls long and triple jumps. The Layman sisters, Emilee and Hallee, exchanged victories in the shot and discus. Emilee’s 32-1 shot put mark was a PR.
Viking coach also cited Hannah Cook for her performance in the sprints and Bryce Sanaski for a personal-best 12-6 in the boys pole vault.
Wishkah eighth grader Denny VanBlaricom won the boys discus and was second in the shot. Logger coach Bob Eager also cited freshman sprinter Benjamin Lawson, who was making his competitive debut.
North River collected victories from Jordan Soimis in the boys shot, John Lehrkind in the boys javelin and Georgia Clark in the girls 1,600 meters.
