Raymond falls to Winlock 14-4

Winlock softball jumped on Raymond early and took advantage of some shaky fielding on its way to a 14-4 win over Raymond on Wednesday.

Raymond (9-3, 6-2) had a little bit of trouble making the routine plays and committed seven errors while falling behind to a Winlock team that put up crooked numbers in each of the first three innings.

Seagulls coach Jason Koski said his team made it things more difficult when they failed to make routine plays.

“We had troubles throwing the ball catching the ball and if you don’t do those two things well, the game becomes a lot harder,” he said.

Raymond will have some time off before they face South Bend in a double header on Tuesday at home.

The doubleheader is the last two league games on Raymond’s schedule and could determine which team gets a first round bye in the district tournament.
