Local teams represented well on 2B All-State Football Team

PWV, Raymond and Ocosta players earn First Team honors

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley and Raymond High School football programs were well represented as the Associated Press released its all-state football selections for the 2B section on Thursday.

A total of seven First Team honors were awarded to Twin Harbors area athletes.

PWV’s Sam Western (TE), Max Smith (LB) and Carson Cox (DB) were all named to the 2B First Team for their respective positions.

Smith was the only local athlete to be named to both the First Team and as an Honorable Mention, the latter for his performance as a running back, where he rushed for 1,215 yards and 17 TDs this season.

Raymond’s Patrick Edwards was named a First Team running back after rushing for over 1,300 yards this season. He was joined by teammates Jose Delgado (K) and Christian Anderson (DL) as Seagulls First-Team selections.

Cesar Delgado earned two Honorable Mention honors, one each for his work on the offensive and defensive lines.

Ocosta senior Kobe Beck was the lone Wildcat named to the first team, earning the honor as a defensive back.
