Montesano’s Hailey Blancas took Medalist honors to lead the Bulldogs to a 208-211 victory over La Center on Thursday at the Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.

Blancas shot a 9-hole round of 36 to place top among all competitors.

Maggi Kupka (55), Jessie LaLonde (58) and Audree Dohrmann (59) rounded out Monte’s top four.

Monte places seventh at Kitsap Invitational

Competing against some of the top girls golf teams in the state, Montesano placed seventh at the Kitsap Invitational on Tuesday, May 2 at the Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton.

Facing teams such as reigning 3A state champion Interlake and 3A state runner-up Bellevue, the Bulldogs’ top quintet finished with a score of 486, placing seventh in the 11-team field.

Montesano was led by last season’s 1A state runner-up, Hailey Blancas, who shot a 75 to finished fifth overall.

Maggi Kupka and Jessie LaLonde each shot a 94 for their 18-hole round to place tied for 32nd out of 68 players.

Audree Dohrmann (104) placed 47th with Emma Sainsbury (119) tying for 63rd as every Monte competitor recorded their lowest 18-hole round in their prep careers.

“Super proud of all our girls today,” Montesano head coach Doug Galloway said. “Every girl shot their personal best round. Hailey has been playing very well lately and I am excited to see how low she can go. Excellent team effort.”

South Bend, Raymond win at Pacific County Invite

South Bend’s boys team and Raymond’s girls team won their respective team titles at the Pacific County Invite on Tuesday at Ilwaco High School.

South Bend won the boys team title with 127.33 points, led by event wins from Robby Stigall, Judah Milton and the 4×400 relay team.

Raymond won the girls competition with 134 points. The Seagulls were paced by two event wins from Karsyn Freeman and a victory in the 4×200 relay team.
