Grays Harbor players sweep Evergreen 1A All-League soccer

Grays Harbor players made up the entire first team and swept the individual awards when the Evergreen 1A All-League selections were announced recently.

Hoquiam’s Connor Darras was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Montesano’s Riccardo Marangon was honored with the Defensive Player of the Year Award for the league. Elma’s A.J. Hernandez earned the Keeper of the Year Award.

Montesano head coach Rick Denholm guided the Bulldogs to one win away from a state berth and earned the Coach of the Year Award.

The All-League first team selections consisted of Elma’s Trace Thompson, Adonis Torres and Isaac Horton, Hoquiam’s Naz Mazariegos, Carlos Juarez, Oscar Joya and Andres Vazquez and Montesano’s Nicolai Vikkelsoe, Luis Muro, Eric Blanchard and Waymn Thoemes.

The All-League roster is as follows:

Offensive Player of the Year: Connor Darras, Hoquiam.

Defensive Player of the Year: Riccardo Marangon, Montesano.

Keeper of the Year: A.J. Hernandez, Elma.
