Girls Prep Wrestling Roundup: Aberdeen places second, trio of Harborites win at regional meet

Aberdeen’s Bell, Montesano’s Roundtree and Raymond’s Siribun win individual championships

Three Twin Harbors wrestlers won regional championships at the WIAA Girls 1B/2B/1A/2A Region 2 Tournament on Saturday at Centralia High School.

Aberdeen’s Felicia Bell, Montesano’s Kya Roundtree and Raymond’s Nina Siribun each won their respective weight classes to lead a contingent of eight Twin Harbors wrestlers that earned a spot in the state tournament.

Bell (36-4 overall) was once again unstoppable, winning three matches – including a pinfall win over W.F. West’s Shelby Hazlett at 5:10 of the final – to win the 125-pound championship and lead the Bobcats to a second-place finish in the team standings.

Roundtree (32-3) was equally dominant, earning three pinfall wins and taking the 170-pound title with a pinfall win over Rainier’s Keira Anderson at 4:58.

Siribun defeated Shelton’s Angela Anderson via fall at 2:51 to go 3-0 on the day and secure the 235-pound championship.

Led by Bell, Aberdeen will be sending five grapplers to the state tournament. Peityn Munoz placed second at 140 pounds; Selena Martinez took second at 145; Mycah Good won the third/fourth-place match at 170; and Kadence Braaten will travel as an alternate after placing fourth at 145.
