Davis shot 50% from the floor on 13 of 26 shooting to lead a Wildcats team that hit 28-of-63 shots as a team (44%).

Ocosta senior Alexia Bradley also had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Wildcats (6-7 overall, 4-4 2B Pacific) grabbed 42 rebounds as a team.

Ocosta had 17 assists led by eighth-grader Bristol Towle with six. Towle also had eight points and four steals to add to her stat line.

Freshman Elly Mirante added a season-high six points, three assists and two steals for Ocosta, which jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

“I challenged them to play four solid quarters and they all rose to the occasion,” said Ocosta head coach Rissy Ness, whose team had a season-low 18 turnovers in the contest. “We worked hard at practice to play good, solid defense and then reward themselves on the offensive end by having good ball movement and making good passes. Once again, the girls executed it greatly. I am so very proud of the team effort and every girl contributed to our win.”

Aberdeen 49, Centralia 38

A second-half surge for the Aberdeen Bobcats led to a 49-38 victory over Centralia on Wednesday at Aberdeen High School.

The Bobcats (9-6, 3-5 2A Evergreen) led by six at the half and ramped up the defensive pressure in the third quarter, leading to a 20-7 advantage in the period.

By using a combination of full-court press and half-court trapping defenses, Aberdeen held a comfortable 19-point at the end of three quarters of play, allowing Bobcats head coach Curtis Eccles to get all his players some playing time.

“It was a little of a slow start. But that third quarter we came out and played the way we are capable of playing,” Eccles said. “We did a good job in transition and pushing the ball. Our defense picked up a lot more and created transition baskets, that was huge. … We created some chaos for them.”

Senior guard Annie Troeh led the Bobcats with 19 points and six steals.

Freshman guard Bentley Brown had 11 points while Zoe Troeh and Alyvia Lamont had eight rebounds apiece to lead Aberdeen.

With the win, the Bobcats move into a tie for fourth place with Rochester in the 2A Evergreen Conference.

Aberdeen plays at Tumwater at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Montesano 54, Hoquiam 13

Montesano appears to be rounding into postseason form as the Bulldogs dominated Hoquiam 54-13 on Wednesday at Hoquiam High School.

The Bulldogs (8-7, 4-0 1A Evergreen) used its press defense and athleticism to jump out to a 19-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 29-9 by halftime.

Monte’s defensive pressure held Hoquiam (3-10, 1-2) to four points in the second half.

Bulldogs head coach Mark Mansfield felt his team didn’t react as well as it could against the Grizzlies’ first-half defense.

“(Hoquiam head coach) Chad (Allan) had them very well prepared. They drew a different defense that we hadn’t seen and we had a tough time adjusting to that in the first half. So I think we got a little impatient against their defense and we turned it over quite a bit in the first half,” Mansfield said. “Our defense got going, we started getting some turnovers and fast-break baskets and that turned the tide.”

“I thought we played a solid half-court team defense against such a tall, athletic Montesano team,” Allan said. “We were able to force 20 turnovers, but could not find the magic to convert those opportunities.”

Monte was led by sophomore Lex Stanfield, who continues to emerge as an offensive threat with 18 points to go along with 14 steals.

Freshman point guard Tieander Olson had 15 points followed by standout sophomore forward Jillie Dalan with 10 points.

“Way too many athletes for Montesano tonight, led by dynamic, cheetah-quick Stanfield,” Allan said. “All credit to Montesano for showing us what being in condition for four quarters looks like. Our 35 turnovers and low shooting percentage continue to be our kryptonite to stay in games.”

Hoquiam hosts Elma while Montesano plays at Tenino in 1A Evergreen League games scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday.

Montesano 19 10 20 5 – 54

Hoquiam 4 5 2 2 – 13

Scoring: Montesano – Stanfield 18, Olson 15, Dalan 10, Schrader 4, Blancas 3, Forster 2, Parkin 2. Hoquiam – Howard 4, Stewart 4, Gordon 3, Little 2.

Raymond-South Bend 69, Chief Leschi 13

Raymond-South Bend honored its seniors with a 69-13 thrashing of Chief Leschi on Wednesday at Raymond High School.

The Ravens (11-5, 6-2 2B Pacific) dominated from the get-go, outscoring the Warriors (6-6, 1-6) 15-0 in the first quarter and blew the game wide open with a 26-3 third quarter.

RSB was led by sophomore guard Kassie Koski (22 points, 9 rebounds), freshman guard Avalynn Stigall (19 pts.) and sophomore point guard Ava Baugher (4 pts., 10 reb.).

“I thought we really set the tone early in the first quarter with a 15-0 lead. Second quarter we relaxed on defense and they let their intensity keep them close,” RSB head coach Jason Koski said. “Coming out of the half I thought we really refocused on assignments and moved the ball very well on offense, creating open shots and layins, which we were able to knock down.”

The Ravens honored its two seniors – Kyndal Koski and Paige Williams – on Senior Night.

“Paige Williams, hurt since early in the season, but has been a two-year starter that has been a huge emotional piece to our team the last five weeks or so. Kyndal Koski is a five-year varsity (four-year starter) who has been our ‘glue’ player that knows what everyone is supposed to be doing and who has turned into more of a vocal leader for us this season,” Coach Koski said. “We will truly miss both of their presence next year, but we have really appreciated their commitment and dedication.”

RSB has a huge 2B Pacific League game against Forks at 7 p.m. on Friday at Forks High School.

Chief Leschi 0 8 3 2 – 13

Raymond-South Bend 15 11 26 17 – 69

Scoring: Chief Leschi – Rodarte 7, John 3, Roy 2, Dillon 1. RSB – Kas. Koski 22, Stigall 19, Kongbouakhay 7, Kyn. Koski 7, Baugher 4, Morley 3, Pine 3, Glazier 2.
