Multiple local student-athletes were honored as the 1A Evergreen league released its all-league lists for girls soccer, volleyball and boys golf earlier this week.
Elma’s Brooke Sutherby and Montesano’s Anna Ayres were named co-offensive MVP’s for their stellar play this season while Monte’s Katie Granstrom was named the league’s defensive player of the year. Hoquiam goalkeeper Jade Cox was named net-minder of the year and Monte’s coaches, led by head coach Fidel Sanchez, were named coaching staff of the year by league officials.
In volleyball, Hoquiam libero ReyLynn Dunn was named the league’s Most Valuable Player while Montesano head coach Renee Volz was honored with the Coach of the Year award.
In boys golf, district-champion Hoquiam had two golfers — Josh Burgher and Brayden Dayton — named to the first team. Montesano’s Payson Parker was also named to the 1A Evergreen/Trico first-team all-league list.
