Zoe A. Howard, 74, of Puyallup, WA, passed away Jan. 28, 2025. She was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Vancouver, WA, to Don and Mary (Scott) Howard, and grew up in Battle Ground, WA.

An interest in classical literature and drama prompted her to enroll at Central Washington University, where she met her husband. She later followed in the footsteps of her educator parents, working for a time in Hoquiam schools, where her children attended school and where she was an avid supporter of the marching band. She was skilled at sewing, making clothes and toys, and canning (especially jam), as well as baking a family repertoire of Christmas cookies. Zoe was an avid reader of mysteries, thrillers, and romances, and ensured that her family had unrestricted access to reading materials at home and from the library. After moving from Hoquiam, she lived in the southeastern United States, including Gulf Shores, AL, and traveled to New Orleans, Italy, and Greece.

Zoe is survived by her children Hallie, Lori, and Collin Tibbetts, and her former spouse Ron Tibbetts, as well as brothers Steve (Carol) Howard and Ham (Pam) Howard.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. No formal service is planned. The family suggests memorial donations to the Roger White Hoquiam Band Fund, Timberland Library’s Friends of the Library, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, or the American Heart Association.
