Willis D. “Bill” Lonn Jr., 72, a resident of Aberdeen, died at his home Tuesday April 27, 2021.

Willis D. “Bill” Lonn Jr., 72, a resident of Aberdeen, died at his home Tuesday April 27, 2021. He was born in Long Beach, California, July 12, 1948, the son of Willis D. Sr. and Jeanne M. (Price) Lonn.

He attended schools in Long Beach and graduated from Garden Grove, California, High School in 1966. He would graduate from Pasadena Nazarene College and receive his teaching certificate from Long Beach State College in 1971.

Bill was married to Cindy L. Schoenborn in Long Beach on June 26, 1976.

Bill taught school for 10 years in Pasadena, California and Lake Oswego, Oregon, before joining the family business in the lumber industry in the early 1980s. He retired after 30 years in the business.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Hoquiam, and enjoyed serving in the lunch programs, providing clothing for those in need and mission work. He worked the Thanksgiving dinners at Immanuel Baptist Church. He also coached baseball and basketball.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cindy, at the family home in Aberdeen; two sons: Bryan and William “Billy” Lonn, both of Aberdeen; three sisters: Becky (Glen) Miller, Salem, Oregon; Barbara (Don) Humphrey, Knoxville, Tennessee and Beverly (David) Altman, Los Alamitos, California; and his mother: Jeanne M. Lonn, Knoxville, Tennessee.

A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1200 Soule St., Hoquiam, WA. The family suggests memorials may be sent to Immanuel Baptist Church, Mission Fund, P.O. Box 703, Hoquiam, WA 98550
