Wendy Sue Mathews was born to Neil and Markle Mathews of Camp Grisdale on Jan. 15, 1959, and passed away on March 7, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Her family moved to Montesano in 1967, and she graduated from Montesano High School in 1977.

Wendy married Dennis Green, and they were blessed with their daughter Tara. After they divorced, Wendy married Guy Jacobs. During their marriage, Wendy and Jake had two daughters, Holly and Markie.

Wendy became a legal secretary, working through the years for Bill Stewart, Dave Hatch, George Steele and Sarah Glorian at Northwest Justice Project before retiring.

Wendy enjoyed life to the fullest, but her greatest joy was in being a mother and grandmother.

Wendy is survived by her mother Markie Brewer, her brother David (Tina) Mathews, her sister Shirley (Stormy) Glick, her children Tara (Chris) Schott, Holly Reed and Markie Jacobs; her grandchildren Cooper, Preston, Sydney and her special friends DeeDee Garman and Rori Thein.

Wendy was preceded in death by her father Neil Mathews and her sister Kathleen Mathews.

As we mourn the loss of Wendy, we will always remember her laugh, her smile, her love of Diet Coke, and the love she had for her family.

A memorial service will be held at Lake Sylvia on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. with a private burial to follow.
