Wanda Louise Bratt, a longtime resident of the Harbor, died on May 1, 2022, at her home in Aberdeen.

Wanda Louise Bratt, age 86, a longtime resident of the Harbor, died on May 1, 2022, at her home in Aberdeen. Mrs. Bratt was born on May 15, 1936, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Othel and Edith B. (Miller) Castor. The family moved to the Harbor when Wanda was 14 years old. Wanda graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1954.

On Nov. 5, 1954, she and Jack Bratt were married in Hoquiam. She and Jack owned and operated Pryde Bros Sheet metal from 1974 to 1995.

She and Jack spent many summers at their cabin at Kenai, Alaska. They loved to go camping and fishing and be together as family. Wanda was considered the foundation of the family.

In addition to her husband Jack, surviving relatives include her daughter, Pamela (Michael) Brist of Montesano; sons, Terry L. (Maravic) Bratt of Henderson, Nevada and Gary W. (Cynthia) Bratt of Shelton; grandchildren, Christina O’Brien of Hoquiam and Katie Cohee of Idaho; and sisters, Patricia Pella and Jean Wood, both of Hoquiam.

She was preceded by siblings, Margaret Burke, Clarence Castor, Joanne Schimelpfenig and Wayne Castor.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. A private interment will follow at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
