Wanda Kay Deason, 69, a lifelong resident of Aberdeen, died at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center, Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2018. She was the daughter of George and Marjorie (Polinsky) Shapansky. She had attended North Beach schools and Moclips High School.
Wanda had worked as a waitress most of her life. She had worked mainly at the Smoke Shop and Blue Beacon, in Aberdeen and also the Hoquiam Moose. She retired in 2007 due to health issues.
She had been a member of the Hoquiam Moose and loved to play Bingo.
Wanda is survived by four sons: Larry Deason Jr. of Arkansas, David and Shilo Deason, both of Aberdeen and Justin Deason, Hoquiam; three daughters: Dawn (Ben) Galeana, Rexann (Francis) Napoleon and Shelby Deason, all of Aberdeen; three brothers: Dean Shapansky, Kennewick, Raymond (Peri) Shapansky, Westport and Gerald Shapansky, Sequim; two sisters: Penny (Louis) Valentine, Ocean City and Georgia Dorman of Utah; and also 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Allen Shapansky and George Shapansky Jr.
A private family inurnment will be held in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
