Walter “Walt” Hershel Bussard, age 82, passed away on May 30, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with loved ones surrounding him. Walter was born on April 27, 1939, in Sutherland, Nebraska, the son of Henry Clayton and Lucy Luciel (Prosise) Bussard.
He was preceded in death by both his first and second wife and five siblings: David Bussard, Velma Bussard, Stella Bussard, Harley Bussard and Ivan Bussard.
Walt was survived by his children: Mike Bussard (Diane) of Montesano, Washington, Kevin Bussard (Gail) of Montesano, Brian Bussard of Puyallup, Washington, Kaye Skirko (Eric) of Colville, Washington; Leann Edwards (Fory) of Montesano, Steve Thompson (Doreen) of Montesano and David Thompson of Montesano; brother Homer Bussard (Darlene) of Centralia, Washington; grandchildren: Jamie Bussard, Justin (Chance) Bussard, Lindsey Bussard (Josh), Jordan Bussard (Kori), Amanda Bussard, Cloe Bussard, Jacob Skirko, Kaleb Skirko, Abigail Skirko, Paul Skirko, Stacey Mathews (Keldy), Steven Thompson, Austin Thompson, Brian (Cari) Fry, Brandon Fry, Kirstie Kaleb (Tony) and Tyler Thompson; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a host of extended family and very special friends.
The service for Walter H. Bussard will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, June 7, with a graveside service and vault interment at the Masonic Cemetery in Elma, Washington.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Montesano Little League Association or The Montesano Fire Department.
