Walter W. Olson, age 74, a resident of Copalis Beach, Washington, died on Feb. 1, 2022, at his home in Copalis Beach. Mr. Olson was born on Aug. 11, 1947, in Portland, Oregon to Walter and Lucille (Peloquin) Olson. He was raised in McMinnville, Oregon.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964 and served three tours of Vietnam as well as being stationed in Germany and Korea. After his discharge in 1973, he worked for the U.S. Navy as a business agent at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard.

Walter and his wife Susan retired to Copalis Beach in 2007, where Walter could play golf throughout the year. For many years, they would snowbird to Arizona.

In addition to Susan, surviving relatives include two stepsons, John (Helena) Carlson of Poquoson, Virginia and Chris (Carey) Carlson of Black Diamond, Washington; two brothers, Robert Olson and Rick (Candy) Olson, both of McMinnville; a sister, Shirley (Vince) Bernards of McMinnville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no formal funeral services.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
