Walter Keith Huffman, 81, of Olympia, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025.

Walter Keith Huffman, 81, of Olympia, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025.

Walt was born in Aberdeen, Washington, on Oct. 21, 1944, to Carl and Margueriette (Russell) Huffman. He was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1963. On March 25, 1967, he married Barbara Olson in Aberdeen, where they built their life together and raised their family.

Walt proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves before beginning a long and successful career in car sales. He worked for many years with his brothers at Huffman Motors before moving on to other local dealerships and eventually running his own lot in Hoquiam. He enjoyed his retirement years in Olympia playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Walt’s passion extended beyond his work — he was a proud member of several organizations including the Push Rods, Vintage Car Club, Eagles, Elks, and Shriners

Walt is survived by his son, Keith Huffman of Elma, Washington; daughter, Renae (Huffman) Penner of Eagle, Idaho; brother Ron (Cheryl) Huffman; sister Mary Moenoa-Daggett of Shelton, Washington; and by his two grandchildren, Zachary and Dillon Penner. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Margueriette Huffman and his brother Carl “Louie” (Virginia) Huffman.

Memorial donations in Walter’s honor may be made to the Coastal Community Action Program — Meals on Wheels, 101 E Market St, Aberdeen, WA 98520.

A celebration of life is planned for Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Scott Lake Community Center.
