Vanessa Fatima Torres-Oropeza, 20, Harbor High graduate and Aberdeen resident, died Saturday morning, July 10, 2021, at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital following a vehicle accident in Aberdeen.
Vanessa was born in Aberdeen to Miguel Torres and Rufina Oropeza on Oct. 5, 2000. She grew up in Aberdeen and lived her whole life in Grays Harbor. She attended Harbor High School, where she graduated in 2019. She was involved in the manufacture of body armor as an employee at Hesco for a year and a half.
Vanessa loved to spend time with her family, spoiling her nephew and her parents.
She is survived by two brothers: Marco A. Torres of Hoquiam, Washington and Migel Torres of Aberdeen, Washington; three sisters: Leydi Oropeza of Hoquiam, Washington, Christina Torres of Aberdeen, Washington, and Selana Torres of Aberdeen, Washington; her father Miguel Angel Torres and her mother Rufina Elisea Oropeza.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 15, 2021 and followed by burial at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
