Trudy C. Stough, 89 years of age and a longtime Harborite, died on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at her Aberdeen, Wash. home. She was born on May 13, 1928, in Suquamish, Wash. to Robert Lee and Gertrude (Nelson) Miller.
She was raised and attended school in Ellensburg, Cosmopolis, Aberdeen and Ocosta.
She was married to Henry Edward Garrett in 1946 in Aberdeen and he died in 1982.
She had lived in Aberdeen where she worked for Pay & Save, Thriftway and for the Washington State Liquor Store in Aberdeen until she retired in 1983.
Trudy was married to Jack Stough on Dec. 5, 1985, in Aberdeen. He died on May 26, 1991.
Trudy loved to read, work in her garden and was a true animal lover.
She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi since 1969, past president of the Grays Harbor Community Hospital Auxiliary, a Lady of the Aberdeen Elks Lodge and the Aberdeen Eagles Auxiliary #24.
Trudy C. Stough is survived by her son, Michael Garrett and her daughter-in-law/daughter, Marie Garrett of Hoquiam; two granddaughters, Angela Carpenter of Sweet Home, Ore. and Amanda Califano of Aberdeen; her great-grandchildren, Jon Ball, Christopher Carpenter and Justin Carpenter all of Sweet Home, Ore. and Cameron Childs and Lexus McDaniel both of Hoquiam; her brothers, Jack Miller of Aberdeen and Robert Miller of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; her sister, Dawn Baker of Lake Stevens and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mina Campbell and her two husbands.
A cryptside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at the Sunset Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum in Hoquiam.
