Thomas “Tom” Parsons, age 69, a longtime Hoquiam resident, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, in Aberdeen.

Thomas “Tom” Parsons, age 69, a longtime Hoquiam resident, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, in Aberdeen. Tom was born on Feb. 23, 1950, to Henry Parsons and Edith Hanson in Aberdeen, Washington.

Tom went to school in Hoquiam and graduated in 1968. He went to work at the Anderson Middleton Veneer Park in Woodlawn, working there until it closed. He went on to further his education at the Grays Harbor College. He then began his employment as a corrections officer at Stafford Creek Corrections Center and he retired from there in 2015.

Most people will remember Tom because of his kind and generous nature. He was always quick to fix your computer and was an expert at spoiling his grandchildren.

Tom Parsons was married to Rhonda (Carpenter) Eaton from 1974 to 1995.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Melissa Todd and her husband Malcom of McCleary, Washington, Jennifer Catron and her husband, Will of Hoquiam, Washington, Angela Parsons of Aberdeen, Washington and Rhiannon Kemp of Washington; nine grandchildren; several nephews, several nieces and other relatives.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Washington.
