Terry R. Wines of Aberdeen, passed on May 29, 2022. He was born in Dodge City, Kansas on June 16, 1952, to Hampton and Ruth Wines.

He lived in Kennewick from 1954 to 1961, moving to Aberdeen in 1961.

He was a strong Christian and lived his life for others.

While at AHS, Terry played football and participated in track and wrestling. He also played trombone in the band which marched in the Portland Rose Festival Parade in 1970. Terry graduated Top Ten in his class from Aberdeen High School in 1970, Grays Harbor College in 1972 and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1974. He received a scholarship from the University of Illinois Graduate School at Champaign-Urbana. He attended there for a brief time and then left to pursue other interests.

He lived in Illinois until late 1979 and then returned to Aberdeen. He worked at Grays Harbor Pulp and Paper as a process engineer for a time. Then for the last 40 years he worked at Lavogue’s Bike Shop, later becoming the owner.

Terry led the music and was very involved in his church, the Cosmopolis Gospel Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth L. Wines.

He is survived by his father Hampton R. Wines, brother John H. Wines (Linnea) of Tumwater, sister Candice M. Olsen (Rex) of Kennewick and nephews Michael Olsen, Matthew Olsen and John David Wines.

A memorial service for Terry will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1200 Soule Ave, Hoquiam on Saturday June 18, at 1 p.m.
