Tammy Jo Gilbert, a long time resident of Colorado, passed away at her home

Tammy Jo Gilbert, a long time resident of Colorado, passed away at her home in Cascade, Colorado on Feb. 10, 2020. Tammy was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington, on April 16, 1965. She is survived by her long time companion, Richard Walker; her father, Malcolm E. Chapin (Chrystal); mother, Donna Jo Jump (Pat); brother, Shane Chapin (Dana); nephew, Bo Chapin (Natasha); grandson, Ryker Wicknick, step-grandmother Beverly Pierce and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and her precious dog, Elsa.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Margaret and Ralph Chapin and Francis and Donald Pierce.

She married Kevin Gilbert, which she later divorced.

Tammy graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1983. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1984. Tammy was a hard working and successful business owner, president of First Properties, Inc with over 25 years experience in property management with expertise in supervision of multi-family and commercial and industrial properties. She was a past president of the Apartment Association of Colorado Springs. She served on IREM’s membership committee. She was the recipient of the 1993-1994 “Most Professional Supervisor Manager Award” by the Apartment Association of Metro Denver. She received many awards for her business accomplishments during her career.

She loved her home in Colorado and making it beautiful, gardening, reading, traveling, animals and her home in Cabo San Lucas. Tammy is remembered for her incredible generosity, her compassion, her beauty and kindness, her love and devotion to Richard, Ryker, her family, her many friends and her little dog, Elsa.

We have peace knowing she is in God’s hands. She will be so missed.

Service will be at Fern Hill Funeral Home, March 13, 2020, at 11 a.m. Family graveside service following. Potluck gathering at Loins Club in Cosmopolis at 12 p.m.
