Susan L. (LaRoque) Peterson of Aberdeen, age 67, passed away peacefully at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health on April 17, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Susan began her journey of life Sept. 27, 1955, in Belcourt, North Dakota to Eileen and Eugene LaRoque. Moving to Aberdeen as a baby, Susan graduated from Weatherwax High School, class of 1974.

Building a rich and meaningful life, Susan married Edward Peterson November 1985. Together they brought their only child and loving son, Kevin, into the world.

She was employed at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (B.I.A.) retiring in 2013 after 35 years. She was a proud enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. Susan enjoyed researching family history and making any excuse to get together with her family and friends. She was a loving and caring soul, who was always there when her family needed her. You could count on Susan day or night to lift your spirits. Her sense of humor was unfaltering.

Preceded in death by her father, Eugene LaRoque and her niece, Salina Shaw. She is survived by her husband, Edward Peterson; son, Kevin Peterson; mother, Eileen; and grandchild, Ella, as well as her sisters: Jeanne and Karen; and brothers: David, Rocky and Jason.

A private service will be held for friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
