On Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, Steven Tubbs, passed away at the age of 64.

Steve was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Ray and Dollie Tubbs. At the age of eight, along with his parents and his sister, Diane, they relocated to Hoquiam, Washington.

Steve’s greatest accomplishment is the family he leaves behind. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his three children, Lila, Meca, and Aaron and son-in-law Michael Doll; his many wonderful grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, Jonah, Jesse, Marques, Brazil, Irelynn, Ryder, Ayden, Kenadi, recently, a great-grandchild, Maysen and other relatives.

He had an inquisitive mind and an empathetic ear. Steve’s wealth of knowledge will be missed by all. He was always there to troubleshoot his family’s technological, mechanical, and personal questions. Steve was capable of conversing on a multitude of topics, and made anyone he talked with, feel valued. His fingers bore the callouses of hard work, and hobby. A rock and roll enthusiast, he taught himself to play the guitar like his favorite musicians.

For the past 19 years Steve’s body betrayed him, and he fought numerous ailments, with the only things not affected by disease were his resolve, and wit. Steve was a prideful man and took great satisfaction from his job as an electrical engineer at Simpson Door Company.

Steve worked there for 17 years beginning in 1983, while there he worked the graveyard shift, and this turned him into a night owl. It was not unusual to see light peaking through the door of his bedroom at 2 a.m., while still awake clicking at his computer, beside his beloved dogs. His dogs were not mere pets, but another branch on the family tree. It is for these reasons, and many more incapable of being applied to paper, that Steven Allen Tubbs will be forever missed.

There will be no formal funeral service.
