Steven Horace Bradt of Hoquiam passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, with his loving family by his side. He was 76. Steven was born on Sept. 26, 1943, in Niskayuna, New York, to Nathan and Berniece (Auchampaugh) Bradt. He called Schenectady, New York, his home until he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963. Steven spent four years in the Navy.

Steven worked as a millwright for many years. His journey started with employment at Weyerhaeuser in 1968, then ITT Rayonier from 1968-1992, before his retirement in 2010, from Norpac of Longview, Washington.

In his retirement, Steven enjoyed watching the Mariners and Seahawks, but mostly loved watching his grandchildren compete in sports. He also enjoyed traveling, especially when he was able to go back to New York to visit his family.

Steven is survived by his sons; Michael (Corie) Bradt of Cosmopolis and Corey (Kathy) Bradt of Hoquiam, daughters; Kari (Al) Elison, Susan (William) Burlison, Kelly (Scott) Sims and Stefanie (Terry) Baltzell, sisters; Sylvia (Charles) Papa and Susan Atwell, grandchildren; Amanda Bradt, Abbie Bradt, Clinton Anderson, Ashley Kujawa, Emily Anderson, Morgan Mulligan, Danielle Russell, Kaylyn Wayman, Corbin Sims, Carly Sims, Gavin Baltzell, Hunter Baltzell, and Delaney Baltzell, and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at 1 p.m. May 23, at Cosmopolis Lions. Steven will be placed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albany, New York, with his parents Nathan and Berniece Bradt.
