Stanley Richard Schweppe, 83, of Montesano, Washington, passed away on Jan. 10, 2023.
Stanley was born on Dec. 20, 1939, to Edward and Margaret Schweppe in Walla Walla, Washington. After graduating from high school he was drafted into the Army where he served two years in Germany. After his time with the Army, he went to work for the Army Corps of Engineers. With the Army Corps of Engineers he worked at Mud Mountain Dam (Enumclaw, Washington) Wynoochee Dam (Montesano, Washington) and finally retired while working at the Hiram M. Chittenden-Ballard Locks (Seattle, Washington).
In 1966, he married Barbara (Clark) Schweppe, and had two children, Tami and Todd.
Stanley enjoyed spending time camping with family, hunting, and coaching softball. During the annual Labor Day “neighborhood” camping weekends he will always be remembered as the one responsible for dropping off those floating the Wynoochee River and keeping the fire going for when everyone returned.
After retirement, he drove school bus and became a member of the Montesano Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter Tami Thompson (Scott) and grandson Derek; his son Todd Schweppe (Tiffany) and four granddaughters: Lilly, Samantha, Haley and Marissa, two sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services will take place, but the family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.
