Loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend Sherri Ann Brooks peacefully passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Artesian Place Assisted Living in Olympia, Washington. She was 78 years old. Sherri was born on Sept. 15, 1942, to Robert and Geraldine Tetzlaff.

Sherri was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington, with her family. She went to school at Aberdeen Weatherwax High School. After high school, Sherri met the love of her life Samuel Brooks, and they later married on Oct. 18, 1958. Together they moved to North Carolina and lived there for about four years before moving back to her hometown of Aberdeen.

Sherri and Samuel would attend services at Harbor Assembly of God, and they also were a part of the Aberdeen Eagles.

Sherri had worked in the retail business as a cashier for 15 years.

She enjoyed many things in life such as sewing quilts, cooking and playing Scrabble for hours on end. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones on holidays, special occasions or anytime they could all be together.

Sherri is survived by her sons Samuel (Edie) Brooks Jr. of Aberdeen, Robert (Lisa) Brooks of Olympia and Franklin Brooks of Olympia; daughters Tamela (Sans) Gilmore of Olympia, Patricia Brooks of Aberdeen and Jeanie Babcock of Hoquiam; brothers Steven Salstrom of Washington and Mark Salstrom of Aberdeen; sister Bonnie (Don) Entus of Aberdeen; stepsister Susan of Alaska; as well as eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Geraldine Tetzlaff and her husband Samuel Brooks.

An interment will take place for Sherri on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen. Arrangements entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
