Sharon Stolen, age 69, of Montesano, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.

Sharon Stolen, age 69, of Montesano, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. Sharon was born in Raymond on July 11, 1951.

Sharon is a graduate of Hoquiam High School and Central Washington University. She worked as a speech pathologist in area schools and retired from Hoquiam School District in 2016.

Sharon’s interests included travel, especially driving down the Oregon coast, where she made many memories with her family and friends. One of those trips was made recently with her daughter and grandchildren and is a precious event by which to remember Sharon.

Sharon also enjoyed gardening. Spring and summer were her favorite seasons. She could be spotted in her yard in her straw hat, on her knees, a trowel in hand. Sharon spent many hours planting new seedlings and tending flowers. She created themed areas with statuary and seating. Guests were invited to sit and enjoy the shade and a have cool drink on a sunny day.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Bryn Stolen of Aberdeen, and by her granddaughters, Lilly and Dea. Other survivors are mother, Betty Beckett of Aberdeen; and siblings: Joyce Quinn of LaGrande, Oregon; Annie Knudson of Lake Forest Park; Dennis Beckett of Aberdeen; Lorrie McMahon of Covington and Joel Beckett of Granite Falls; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Also surviving are aunts Jan Johnston of Raymond and Judy Thompson of Tumwater. Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Beckett.

There will be a celebration of life, to be announced when it is safe to gather again.
