Sharon Kay Poor, age 79, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, passed away on June 24, 2022.

Sharon Kay Poor, age 79, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, passed away on June 24, 2022, at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen. Sharon was born Jan. 14, 1943, in Thomasville, Missouri to Raymond and Thelma E. (Tackett) Walker. The family then moved to Harlowton, Montana before settling in Morton, Washington, where Sharon graduated high school in 1961. She was active in many clubs and made lifelong friends.

After graduating Sharon moved to Seattle and worked at Heaven Supply. She met Dale while living in Seattle. He was on shore leave from the navy base in Bremerton. They were married on March 17, 1962, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The made their home in Aberdeen prior to building their home in Montesano.

Sharon owned and operated several business: The Blue Apple in Montesano, Childrens Carousel in the Aberdeen Square, Cindirellas in Vancouver and Flowerland in Hoquiam. She was a talented florist, having worked at Wynans, Flowers by Pollen and Harbor Blooms.

Sharon was very artistic and talented. She was known as an exceptional baker and cook.

She is survived by her beloved children, Tammy, Mike and Rick and his wife Lisa and a sister, Joann Haynes of Randle, Washington. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for July 17, 2022, at Friends Landing in Montesano from 1 to 4 p.m.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
