Shannon is preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Hatton of Ocosta, Wash., who went to be with the Lord in 2002; as well as aunts and uncles within the Hatton family.

Shannon Ray was born on Dec. 29, 1967, in Aberdeen, Wash., where he spent most of his childhood growing up near family in Grays Harbor County. He graduated from Ocosta High School in 1986 with many of his lifelong friends.

Shannon shortly later moved to the Seattle area, where he became a lifelong standing member of UA Local 699 Fire Sprinkler Fitters.

Shannon and his family spent a couple years living in Northern California before making his final move to North Carolina.

Shannon loved life and lived it to his fullest. He loved to spend time with his family and took great pride in them. Shannon also loved the outdoors, adventures and drawing any thing that inspired him. He had a keen eye for details in everything. He was a master at listening and guiding others to see the best in themselves and all things around them. Shannon journeyed life with a beautiful soul and left a positive impact on everyone he met.

A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at the Ocosta Recreation Hall, 45 Ocosta Sixth St, Aberdeen, WA 98520.
