Sandra Louise Erickson, age 81, a resident of Elma for over 43 years, died on Nov. 22, 2016, at Montesano Health & Rehab. Mrs. Erickson was born in Hoquiam on April 30, 1935, to John Carl and Dorothy Louise (Wilson) Wicklund. She was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1953. She later attended Grays Harbor Business College.

On Sept. 15, 1956, she and Melvin were married in Hoquiam.

She had worked in accounting and sales for Harbor Plywood. She then worked as a para-educator for the Elma School District, retiring in June of 1997. She enjoyed flowers, crafts, her work and family.

Surviving relatives include her two sons, Donald and John Erickson of Elma; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sandy Wicklund of Aberdeen and two nieces and their husbands, Karen and Alan Salvadalena of LaGrange, Ky. and DeAnna and Glen Dubreuil of Issaquah, Wash.

Her husband Melvin and a son, David, preceded her in death.

A private interment will take place at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Direction is by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
