Ronald Lee Thompson, a resident of Aberdeen, died on July 11, 2021, at Providence Centralia Hospital.

Ronald Lee Thompson, age 82, a resident of Aberdeen, died on July 11, 2021, at Providence Centralia Hospital. Mr. Thompson was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Nov. 23, 1938, to Gilbert and Lena (Klove) Thompson.

The family later moved to Hoquiam where Ronald graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1957. He then attended Grays Harbor College, Central Washington University, earning a master’s degree in education in 1971.

He and Sandy Mooney were married on Aug. 27, 1966, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, Washington. The couple then lived in Klickitat where Ron taught high school. They then moved to Bandon, Oregon, where taught at Bandon High School.

One of his most memorable times in his life was family vacationing at Disneyland and Disney World as well as the Bahamas. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and hiking. They retired to Aberdeen in 1997.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Ghilarducci of Fresno, California. He was preceded by his wife Sandy in 2011.

A private urn committal will be held in Bandon, Oregon. Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
