Ron Conway, longtime Wishkah Valley resident, passed away on March 7, 2018, at age 85, with his family at his side.

Ron was born in Aberdeen, Wash. to John and Emma “Beebe” Conway on June 26, 1932. He graduated from Wishkah Valley School then entered the Army, serving as an MP stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War.

He married Lucille Walczak on Sept. 13, 1958. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Seattle. Ron worked for 30 years for the Seattle Water Department while raising their three children.

During his time in West Seattle, he loved coaching little league baseball and coached both of his sons. He also was an umpire for the youth baseball association. “Mr. C.” had a huge impact on many of the boys he coached and is remembered fondly.

After retiring, he moved back to the Wishkah Valley where he lived out his remaining years doing what he truly loved – farming, gardening and spending time with his family. His children and grandsons were his pride and joy.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents John and Emma; brothers Floyd and Robert; and sister Mary Ellen.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille; sons Ed (Sonya) and Bruce (DeAnn), daughter Tammi (Dean), four grandsons, Benjamin, Lucas, Brock and Brendan; three step-granddaughters, Danielle, Ashley and Samantha; one great-granddaughter, Ahlaya, and many nieces and nephews.
