Ron Crowder, a long-time resident of Aberdeen and current resident of Puyallup, Washington passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 3, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.

Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie R Crowder; daughters: Stacey (Donnie) Crawford of McCleary, Washington and Melissa (Jason) Knudtson of Eatonville, Washington; grandson Connor Vanderziel; step-grandchildren Bailey and Evan Knudtson; brothers Fred (Bobbie) Crowder of Tigard, Oregon and Bill Crowder of Aberdeen, sister Deborah Thayer of Everett, Washington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Washington, Oregon and Kentucky.

He was born to Allen and Irene Crowder in Aberdeen on Aug. 1, 1955. He attended Stevens and Alexander Young elementary schools, and Miller Junior High, and he graduated from Weatherwax High School in June 1973.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Darleen Dewald.

Immediately following his graduation from high school in June 1973, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving at boot camp and Hospital Corps School in San Diego, California; Audiology Technician School at NAS Pensacola, Florida, Naval Amphib Base, Little Creek, Virginia; Naval Regional Medical Clinic Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and Branch Medical Clinic, Kaneohe Bay MCAS, Hawaii. He was discharged in April 1978 attaining the rank of Hospital Corpsman Third Class. He received the National Defense and Navy Good Conduct medals.

On Aug. 29, 1981, Ron married the love of his life, Debbie Short of Montesano. Within five years, they welcomed their two daughters Stacey and Melissa. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson. He was an avid gun collector. Ron was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery for Ron’s family and friends at a later date.
