Robert W. Deatherage

Robert Wayne Deatherage, known to most of his friends as Dudley, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia surrounded by his loving family.

Robert Wayne Deatherage, known to most of his friends as Dudley, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on March 7, 1950, in Auburn, Wash., to Anita Thompson and Wyant Deatherage.

Robert spent most of his childhood in Aberdeen, Wash., where he attended Weatherwax High School. On Dec. 14, 1968, he married his wife of over 48 years, Angela Deatherage. Robert and Angela moved to Raymond in 1969 where he worked for thirty years as a heavy equipment mechanic for Weyerhaeuser. He was a proud father of two daughters, Tani Deatherage and Tera Stephens. His proudest accomplishments were his three grandsons, Tayler, Tysen and Taren. He spent time loving, inspiring and guiding his boys everyday.

Besides spending time with his family he enjoyed his pets. He always enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be camping, hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved classic cars, including his 1957 Chevy. Bob was a member of Pacific County Cruisers, The Gun Club, The Elk’s, The Eagles and The Pool League.

Robert was proceeded in death by his mother Anita Thompson, his father Wyant Deatherage, his brother, Ernie Deatherage and his sisters Carol Bravos and Lisa Allen. He is survived at the family home by the love of his life, wife Angela Deatherage, two daughters Tani Deatherage of Tumwater and Tera (Chris) Stephens of Raymond and three grandsons, Tayler Deatherage, Tysen Stephens and Taren Stephens. He is also survived by his sisters Linda (Chuck) Macrae, Barb (Gary) Peterson and nieces Jody Stafford and Deaun Scott and nephew Mark Peterson.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Barge Restaurant in Raymond on Saturday, July 8, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Raymond Ambulance Fund, 212 Commercial St., Raymond, WA 98577.
