Robert Thomas Dziubak died on Oct. 13, 2020, at his home in Pacific Beach.

Robert Thomas Dziubak, age 73, a longtime resident of Pacific Beach, died on Oct. 13, 2020, at his home in Pacific Beach. Robert was born on June 1, 1947, in Aberdeen to Robert and Olive (Connelly) Dziubak. He was raised in Moclips and graduated from Moclips High School in 1966.

At age 18, he started working as a shingle sawyer in local mills and did so for 26 years. After that he worked as a courier for the area banks for 20 years, retiring in 2011.

On Aug. 26, 1967, he and Sharon Karbo were married. She passed away in 2012 after 45 years of marriage.

Robert was a volunteer firefighter for Fire District 8 in Pacific Beach for 28 years (1975 to 2003) and had served as assistant chief.

He lived on the beach all of his life. He liked to hunt, fish, dig clams and go beach combing when he was younger. He also enjoyed camping and going on trips with his family.

Surviving relatives include three sons: Robert P. Dziubak of Marysville, Jeff Dziubak of Aberdeen and Michael Dziubak of Winlock; a sister, Connie Alvarez of Texas; a brother, Steven Dziubak of Aberdeen; mother Olive Dziubak of Hoquiam, and four grandchildren: Zachary, Austin, Taylor and Jazzmen.

An urn committal will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
