Robert (Bob) Glen Fletcher, 68, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former heavy equipment mechanic for Weyerhaeuser’s South Aberdeen mill, died last week at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.
Bob was born on April 9, 1952, in Aberdeen to Don and Fern (Meggitt) Fletcher. He graduated form Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1970 and then attended Grays Harbor College. He went to work for Weyerhaeuser in 1969 and worked there until the Historical Seaport took over the property in 2016. He also worked part time at Rognlin’s.
On Feb. 29, 2008, Bob married Linda Rae Snodgrass in Astoria, Oregon. She resides at the family home.
Bob enjoyed working and the thought of just doing nothing would not do. He enjoyed chopping firewood and canning fish, vegetables or whatever else he could harvest from his garden. He enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle, stopping at casinos and traveling to Cabo as much as he could and would go marlin and tuna fishing while there. He also liked to go out in his MG on drives and watching college sports.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, in Aberdeen; a brother, Steven Fletcher of SoRuth Carolina; sisters Gloria (Dan) Gullickson of Hoquiam and Nancy Fletcher of Lynnwood, Washington; nephews and nieces: Pam, Jami, Stacey, Allen, Devvvan and Travis.
There will be a celebration of his life when all can attend.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
