Robert (Bob) Low passed away at the Beehive Retirement Center on Nov. 28, 2020.

Robert (Bob) Low passed away at the Beehive Retirement Center on Nov. 28, 2020. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife (Annie Olive “Ollie”) and is survived by his children, Susan McKibbin (Bob) of Harstine Island, Washington; son Terry Low (Janene) of Ariel, Washington; and “adopted” son Earl Hari (Arlene), as well as four grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

Bob was born in Golden, British Columbia, Canada, on March 22, 1921. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1960 and became United States citizens in 1967.

Bob and Ollie owned and operated Browns Grocery and later built and operated the Mini-Mall grocery store, both on the west side of Elma.

Bob fought in World War II with the Canadian Scottish Army. He earned the French Medal of Honor for helping liberate France.

Bob loved life and had many friends. His 80th birthday party was attended by over 100 people from four generations. He loved family, hiking in the Olympic Mountains, oil painting, reading and visiting with his many friends.
