Robert (Bob) Garman, age 63, of Copalis Crossing, passed away Jan. 28, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. He was born April 28, 1955, in Waukegan, Ill., to William Murray Garman and Ellen (Lewis) Salzer. He attended school in Hoquiam.

On Oct. 5, 1974, he married Margaret (Nicolich) Garman in Aberdeen.

Bob served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer 3 in 1992. He also worked for the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office for 8 1/2 years until illness forced him to retire.

Bob was the treasurer of The Poggie’s Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching, spending time with grandkids and great-granddaughter Elena.

Bob is survived by his wife Margaret (Nicolich) Garman of Copalis Crossing; three sons James, Michael and Charles; four brothers Richard (Candie) Garman, Larry (Deedee) Garman, Jeff Good and Ron Good; sister Kathee Katainen; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of life potluck will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at North Beach High School in Ocean Shores.
