Richard LeRoy Sharp, age 71, a resident of Aberdeen, died on Nov. 24, 2022, at his residence in Aberdeen. Mr. Sharp was born on Feb. 4, 1951, in Aberdeen to Earl LeRoy and Jean Marie (Parks) Sharp. He was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School, class of 1969. In high school he had been a state champion in wrestling. He then attended college in Centralia.

Mr. Sharp had served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he returned to the Harbor where he has worked as a longshoreman, local 24.

He loved fishing and attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Erica Sharp of Hoquiam; a son, Spenser Sharp of Hoquiam; one sister, Kay Benson of Montesano and two grandsons, Owen and Isaac Sharp.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
