Rex Maurice Birchall, loving father, brother, grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at Gulke Manor in Montesano, Washington. He was 90 years old.

Rex was born on Nov. 9, 1930, to John and Florence Birchall in Salinas, California. In his younger years Rex grew up in Salinas, until the age of 7. He and his family moved to Elma, Washington where he went to Elma High School. While in school Rex met the love of his life, Dolores Taylor, and they later married on May 1, 1949.

Rex owned and operated his own barber shop for several years until he retired at age 52. He then went on to purchase land and built rental properties.

Rex is survived by his daughters: Diane Guley of Elma, Washington and June Herron of Montesano, Washington; brother Robert Birchall of Fallbrook, California, grandchildren: Clayton Herron Jr, Angela Garrison and Ron Inman; great-grandchildren: Justin, Todd, Wyatt and Logan Garrison, Kathleen Nuxoll and Kevin Brogan; as well as great-great grandchildren Kyler Garrison and Zion Mondothi. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Florence Birchall, brother Richard Birchall; grandchild Ricky Brogan, and great-great grandchildren Kirk Garrison Jr., Dean and Ava Nuxoll.
