Reggie Lee Brooks, age 87, a longtime Hoquiam resident, died on January 30, 2024, at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Aberdeen. Mr. Brooks was born on December 22, 1936, in Clearwater, Washington.

At an early age, the family moved to Hoquiam where Reggie attended local schools and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1955. Following graduation, he joined the US Army and served in Korea.

Mr. Brooks worked for various mills, including Evans Products and Industrial Cut Stock. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and his numerous dogs. He was known for his sense of humor.

He and Judi Hansen were married in 1970.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Marni and Scott West of Cosmopolis; two granddaughters, Scotti Hughes of Aberdeen and Payton Bullington of Cosmopolis; and two great-grandsons, Knox and Colsen Hughes. He was preceded by two sisters, Orma Willis and Alva Walker and a brother Elvin Brooks.

A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced later.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
