Phung Johnson passed away on May 29, 2021, at her home in Ocean Shores after a brief battle with cancer.
Phung was born Dec. 30, 1948, in Vietnam. After attending school in Vietnam, she worked for the U. S. Army for the Post Exchange during the Vietnam war.
After the war, she was self-employed working at her hair salon and then at a construction supply business.
She first came to the United States to visit her sister in 2016. She made a few trips back and forth to Vietnam and the United States. During her trips she met Ernie Johnson and married him on Dec. 27, 2018. He is survived at the family home.
While in the United States, she took care of the family home and made a few trips to visit friends in Las Vegas, Texas and California.
Phung is survived by her husband Ernie Johnson of Ocean Shores, Washington; her daughters Pham My Thuy Trang (Toan) of Vietnam and Pham Tuong Vy of Boise, Idaho; her daughter-in-law Stefanie Grankowski; her son-in-law Eric Johnson (Theresa); her sister Nhan Mattler (Robert) and grandchildren: Nau, Mi, Khoi, Elizabeth and Tiana.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam, Washington.
